Faithful Foundations Homeschool Academy continues the journey of strong, structured learning by supporting both students and parents in a guided homeschool experience. Through a combination of at-home instruction and teacher-supported Academy Days, students build skills in core academic subjects while staying engaged and on track.
Our program emphasizes clarity, consistency, and meaningful learning—helping students grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity as they move forward in their education.

1ST GRADE
In 1st grade, students build on their foundational skills in reading, writing, and math while developing confidence and independence in learning. 📖 Reading & Phonics: Foundational reading skills, phonics, fluency, and comprehension ✏️ Writing & Language: Sentence formation, handwriting, grammar basics ➕ Math: Number sense, addition and subtraction, early problem solving 🌍 Science & Social Studies: Introduction to the world, community, and basic scientific concepts Students begin establishing consistent learning routines and develop confidence in their ability to learn and communicate 📚 Optional Curriculum: Families may choose to incorporate additional subjects into their homeschool plan, including: 📖 Bible – Faith-based instruction aligned with a Biblical worldview 🔤 Spelling – Structured spelling and vocabulary development ✍️ Handwriting – Manuscript or cursive writing practice 🌎 Spanish – Introductory foreign language exposure These optional subjects allow families to customize their child’s education while still maintaining alignment with the Academy’s structured academic plan.



2nd Grade

Academy Days: Learning in Action
Academy Days are the in-person portion of our program, where students come together for structured instruction, hands-on learning, and meaningful collaboration. Held twice per week, these days are intentionally designed to reinforce and expand upon what students are learning at home, creating a consistent and connected educational experience. Each Academy Day follows a structured rotation model that may include: 👩🏫 Teacher-Guided Instruction – Reinforcing key concepts in core subject areas 🧩 Small Group Learning – Targeted support and collaborative engagement 🔬 Hands-On Enrichment – Science experiments, projects, and applied learning 📖 Reading & Independent Work – Skill-building and focused practice 🏃 Movement & Social Time – Physical activity, peer interaction, and development of social skills

Our Approach: At Faithful Foundations Homeschool Academy, students build confidence and independence through structured learning and guided problem-solving. As they progress through their coursework, students are encouraged to stay engaged, work through challenges, and take ownership of their learning—developing the habits necessary for long-term academic success.

Our Approach: We support students in developing confidence, responsibility, and respectful interactions within a structured environment. Through collaboration, group activities, and consistent expectations, students build the social and emotional skills needed for both academic and personal success.
🔬 Science Aligned Standard: Students explore life, physical, and earth sciences while developing inquiry skills and an understanding of scientific concepts. Our Approach: Students engage in science through both structured learning and hands-on exploration. Academy Days provide opportunities for experiments, projects, and applied learning that reinforce concepts introduced at home and encourage curiosity about the world around them.
🌎 Social Studies Aligned Standard: Students develop an understanding of history, geography, civics, and economics through exploration of communities and the world around them. Our Approach: Students explore social studies through structured lessons and meaningful discussion. Emphasis is placed on understanding communities, historical events, and real-world connections—helping students develop awareness and perspective as they grow.
📖 Literacy (Reading & Writing) Aligned Standard: Oregon English Language Arts standards emphasize reading comprehension, writing development, vocabulary, and language conventions. Our Approach: Students develop strong literacy skills through structured phonics, reading comprehension, and guided writing instruction. Emphasis is placed on building confident readers and writers who can think critically, communicate clearly, and apply their skills across subjects.
🗣 Language & Communication Aligned Standard: Students develop the ability to communicate ideas effectively, listen actively, and participate in meaningful discussions. Our Approach: Students strengthen communication skills through reading, writing, and structured discussion. Academy Days provide opportunities for collaboration, verbal expression, and guided interaction—helping students develop confidence in sharing ideas and engaging with others.

Our Approach: At Faithful Foundations Homeschool Academy, students engage in meaningful enrichment experiences that bring learning to life. Through science experiments, creative projects, collaborative activities, and movement-based learning, students are given opportunities to apply what they are learning in a hands-on and engaging way. Academy Days are intentionally designed to support applied learning—helping students make connections, build confidence, and deepen their understanding beyond traditional instruction.
